Impacted First Nations have until March 7, 2023, to accept the First Nations Drinking Water Settlement by submitting a Band Council Acceptance Resolution (BCAR) to the Administrator.

After the Administrator reviews and determines the BCAR to be complete and eligible, the Impacted First Nation will receive a $500,000 base payment. Additional payments, equal to 50% of the amounts paid to eligible individuals who lived in the Impacted First Nation community during a long-term drinking water advisory, will be paid out after the claim period deadline of March 7, 2023.
