New First Nations communities included in the Settlement

March 22, 2024

While the deadline for regular claims submissions has passed, some First Nations were recently included in the Settlement and individuals have been given a limited extension to the deadline for submitting claims.

If you lived on one of the following First Nations during a long-term drinking water advisory between November 20, 1995 and June 20, 2021, there is still time apply for compensation.

Individuals can apply for compensation by submitting a Claim Form to the Administrator by 11:59 PM PDT on the closing date noted for their First Nation Reserve, which is based on when it was added to the Impacted First Nations list.

Please note that claims must be filed using a Claim Form that can be submitted via email, fax, or regular mail. Because it was recently added, the name of your First Nation and reserve are not pre-printed on the Claim Form and must be written under the Other First Nations section at the bottom of page 14 of the Individual Claim Form or page 16 of the Representative Claim Form.

More information about the First Nations reserves recently added to the Settlement, including specific deadlines, can be found at Impacted First Nations.

For more information on the Claims Process, including associated timelines, see the Claims Process Timeline.
