Additional First Nations communities included in the Settlement
July 19, 2024
Some First Nation Reserves have been added to the Settlement and eligible individuals from these communities have a limited extension to the deadline for submitting claims.
While the deadline for regular claim submission has passed, these communities were recently added to the Settlement because they met the eligibility requirements and applied to be part of the Settlement before the Claims Period closed on March 7, 2024.
Individuals who lived in the following Reserves during a long-term drinking water advisory between November 20, 1995, and June 20, 2021, have until September 17, 2024, at 11:59 PM PDT to submit a claim for compensation.
Lower Similkameen Indian Band was previously on the Impacted First Nations List; two additional Reserves included and drinking water advisory dates for Blind Creek 6 Reserve extended.
More information about the First Nations Reserves recently added to the Settlement, including specific deadlines, can be found at Impacted First Nations.
